House League FAQ
Quick answers to common questions from parents and players.
Who is House League for?+
House League is for players of all skill levels—from first-time players picking up a glove for the first time to returning players looking to build confidence and skills in a fun, supportive environment.
Does my child need baseball experience?+
Nope! House League is designed to teach the fundamentals of baseball. Our coaches focus on development, teamwork, and fun… not prior experience.
What age groups are offered?+
House League divisions are based on birth year and follow Baseball Ontario guidelines. You can start as young as 2 in our Blastball program and play until 18.
How often are games and practices?+
Our Blastballers play once a week, while all other divisions are twice a week. Schedules are designed to balance baseball with school, family time, and other sports.
Where are games played?+
Games and practices are held at local Woodstock diamonds, keeping travel minimal and community-focused. 13U and up play in the Southern Counties Loop (SCBA).
What equipment does my child need?+
Players typically need:
A baseball glove
Helmet
Cleats or running shoes
A water bottle
Bats and spare helmets are provided by WMBA, especially in younger divisions.
Are uniforms included?+
Yes! House League players receive a team jersey, pants, and a hat as part of their registration.
How are teams formed?+
Teams are formed to promote balanced play and fair competition, while also keeping the experience positive for all players. You can request to be on a friend's team during registration (no guarantees!).
Who coaches House League teams?+
Our coaches are local parents and community volunteers who care deeply about creating a positive experience for every player. No previous coaching experience is required—just a great attitude and willingness to help.
Can parents help or volunteer?+
Absolutely! House League runs on volunteers. Coaching, assisting, scorekeeping, and team support are all great ways to get involved.
What is the commitment like?+
House League is designed to be family-friendly and accessible, with a lighter commitment than competitive baseball. Can’t make a game? No problem! Just keep transparent communication with your team.
When should we register?+
Registration is currently open!
Fees increase on March 1, with registration closing April 5, to build rosters and organize uniforms.
